Any experts on Disclosure Scotland?

Hello,
Hoping someone in the vast Mumsnet world knows anything about standard disclosures in Scotland. I know I can pay for a basic check but it's the standard one I need which you can only do through a registered body.

I'm just looking for advice on what stays on there? My conviction was assault to injury (horrendously long story, quite possibly the biggest regret of my entre life but here we are) and it was community service, no prison sentence. This was 8/9 years ago.

Any advice on whether or not this will show up would be very welcomed!

If you are working with vulnerable groups, the enhanced PVG will show any arrests or convictions from crimes committed as an adult.

I'm not clear if juvenile crimes are recorded on the PVG.

If you were over 18 it should remain for 15 years, less if you were under 18.

It will show up.

Your best option is to include anything like this in the application form. You can then explain it, and it’s clear you are honest and can take responsibility. If you don’t, then they’ll find out and fire you, as unlikely they’ll have any choice.

Thanks everyone!

It's not for a job it's for a placement on a Uni course in an NHS laboratory. Not working with vulnerable groups.

My plan is to be honest it would just be nice if I didn't have to disclose it. I feel it automatically puts me at a disadvantage. I was 19 at the time Sad

Thanks anyway guys
