Adult ADHD

Has anyone been tested as an adult for ADHD?

I would like to get tested because I feel like I share many of the characteristics. How would you go about getting tested? Would my GP help or would I be better booking an evaluation with a mental health professional?

Some other people will be along soon. Take your symptoms to your GP. If there is a long wait you can use Right to Choose and ask to see an approved assessor privately under the NHS. Psychiatry UK are approved. They also see private patients. It was about £360 for an assessment, plus cost of letters, follow ups, prescriptions and meds under titration for a few months where you get the right dose and then it transfers to NHS but you still pay for an annual review.
