Will anywhere / anything be open the first week of Easter holidays?

I'm guessing not, looking at the guidelines.

DH works for a small family run business, he gets little say over his annual leave and rarely gets time off during school holidays. However this year he has been given week beginning 5th April, the first week of the Easter holidays.

Yay, I thought, we might actually get a few days away together this year as I am off too with the kids. Then I read the guidelines which said holidays not allowed until the week after. So have I missed a trick? Will there be anything we can do? I'm not planning a week in Barbados but would have loved even a couple of nights anywhere really, just away from the house.

No, not until the 12 April. I'm sorry.

Nope, not possible to go away on holiday and a lot won't be open. We're in a similar boat, annual leave has to be booked 12 months advance in school holidays and we chose the first week! Sad
Plans we have include- Easter egg trail at National Trust, outdoor mini golf and Botanical Gardens which all like they'll be allowed.

😔 I thought as much

Guess we'll be doing lots of walking then

Some good ideas there, we are national trust members

There is also a dino mini golf nearby we could book

So outdoor places mainly open? I suppose I should think of the money we are saving and just do some days out instead. And hope the weather is kind!
