And his obsession with Meghan Markle.

Good. Piers Morgan is obsessed with her. And Alex called it right.

PM is a lot of things but snowflake isn't one of them.

Ddot · 11/03/2021 07:03

Don't forget she is an actress

picknmix1984 · 11/03/2021 07:07

He is a prick no doubt about it but I just find the whole thing ridiculous. The weather man arguing with the presenter over a D list celebrity interview with Oprah. There are far worse situations going on than Meghans ffs!

Morgan is hilarious. Banging on about free speech, yet objects to anyone else having their say if it doesn't exactly match his. That's not free speech. That's being an overbearing twat.

Inkanta · 11/03/2021 07:35

Shouting at a woman the way he shouts at Meghan whenever he wants - like on Monday , that's not free speech. Monday was also Women's day and there he is shouty shouty shouting at a woman.

@Sparklingbrook

PM is a lot of things but snowflake isn't one of them.
See this is where I disagree with you.

He flounced off stage after starting a second day where people were challenging him and challenging him hard. Doing what he did.

He's proved beyond anything he can't take hat he dishes out.

And that's disappointed me about him. I didn't always agree me with his stance and more often or not his delivery. But I did think he'd be able to take what he gave.

As an aside where is susanna this morning? It's Kate and Ben instead?

Mummy195 · 11/03/2021 07:40

Not Sharon Osborne burning her career defending Piers when her whole family suffered from MH and she herself admitted to almost committing suicide.

Roussette · 11/03/2021 07:41

He couldn't cope with someone disagreeing with him at the time, he stomped off, resigned/sacked, but then holds answers reporters, with his young daughter stood next to him... saying he doesn't go back on anything he said.

Coward. Couldn't do it when he was live on air in a reasonable way, had to flounce and do it on his terms because he's cowardly. All bullies are when someone calls them out.

twelly · 11/03/2021 07:44

As I said before I don't agree with lots of things PM says but if you listen to any of his debates/ arguments he is intelligent and very good at picking holes in others views. We need people like that to hold the government to account on tv, it is a great pity that we have lost someone who will stand up and ask those questions, I didn't agree with his views on many things but his ability to question forces people to defend their views. The government handling of the pandemic, the transgender debate, brexit are far bigger questions than the current one which is really about who said what and perception and individuals - it's not about ideology.

Graceambrose · 11/03/2021 07:59

A bigot who thought Trump was exceptional. Most bigots fall on their own sword eventually. Hopefully he will disappear into his own hell.

Toooldforthisshit49 · 11/03/2021 08:02

Having RFT all I'm thinking is why did I waste the past 5 minutes reading as all I'm seeing us a slagging fest against PM, whatever happened to #bekind or does that only apply to people you like? Yes he's very outspoken,rude at times and shouty but nobody was being forced to watch GMB and listen to him were they?

Roussette · 11/03/2021 08:04

I didn't agree with his views on many things but his ability to question forces people to defend their views

If he ever allowed them to answer, which was rare.
He was not a good or professional interviewer, because his style was so bad.
Firing questions without waiting for answers, shouting over people, bellowing, are not good tactics.

twelly · 11/03/2021 08:06

I don't agree with all his views but if you listen to the programme he often changed his views , he changed his view on trump like many have done so , he was vehemently anti gun laws in the USA which is why he was disliked their by the gun lobby.

Roussette · 11/03/2021 08:14

It's nothing to do with his views. He blasted the Government at times... good... but they wouldn't come on and be interviewed by him because of his bullying tactics.

twelly · 11/03/2021 08:20

I'm not sure it's bullying when you ask someone a question , they don't answer and you keep asking, or you ask them to justify their actions - politicians are elected by the public. Yes at times he may have been hectoring - but given pmqs and the way BJ gets away with 5 questions he doesn't answer journalists have an important role

Sparklingbrook · 11/03/2021 08:32

See this is where I disagree with you

See I am one of those that think it was all set up anyway, and not what it seemed. It's always Kate and Ben on Thurs/Fri IIRC. PM and SR did Monday to Wednesday.

Kate139 · 11/03/2021 08:40

Totally agree. Piers Morgan should be ashamed of himself . You don't ridicule and call a person a liar when they have had the courage to talk about their mental health struggles no matter what your personal opinion about them is.

AirBubbleMe · 11/03/2021 08:41

It's not journalism, it's just narcissistic boorishness. Times have moved on and left PM behind, he remains a leftover of the early 90s

The thing with PM though is that he never gave people a chance to answer. He just yelled more questions at them or interrupted them when they started speaking.
Roussette · 11/03/2021 08:57

This is why it goes.
PM = Piers Morgan
I = Interviewee

PM asks question
I - says 4 words
PM - interrupts and jumps forward with assumption
I - persists in trying to answer first question
PM - starts shouting 3rd question whilst not listening
I - asks PM to let him answer the question
PM - says I know you haven't got an answer. You are not right. I am.

End of interview

MagicSummer · 11/03/2021 09:03

@Roussette

Lampzade don't even go there, it's not worth it 😂🤣😁
There was only one letter missing from TwistedBubbles' post - a 'k' in the word 'marle'. How come it's OK to poke fun at this poster for missing one letter out, and yet it isn't allowed to correct people's grammar, spelling and punctuation on other threads??? Double standards!
SirChing · 11/03/2021 09:04

For those saying it's atrocious that PM has gone because it's an assault on free speech: no it isn't.

PM wasn't arrested for his views, they didn't break any laws. People seem to be confusing freedom of speech with freedom from the consequences of that speech.

PM was free to say what he did (and what he said about suicide was abhorrent). ITV were free to effectively sack him for it.

It's hilarious those who are glad PM has gone are being called snowflakes and Woke by some posters. Not being able to accept that what you say at work has consequences with your employer, is the very epitome of being a snowflake. The rest of us live in the real world!

Roussette · 11/03/2021 09:08

@MagicSummer

Nothing to do with a missing 'k'

It was the content with the woke snowflake nonsense.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 11/03/2021 09:10

@Sparklingbrook

PM is a lot of things but snowflake isn't one of them.
He walked off stage in tears because a man told him some home truths. If that's not a snowflake then what on earth is?Confused
HmmmmmmInteresting · 11/03/2021 09:11

Piers fired himself, so how exactly have others silenced him?Confused
