And his obsession with Meghan Markle.

Good. Piers Morgan is obsessed with her. And Alex called it right.

@derxa

Piers Morgan went far too far in his criticism of Meghan Markle. However Harry and Meghan positioning themselves as oppressed people who have been 'silenced' is absolutely laughable. It is an insult to oppressed and silenced people all around the world. Disgusting in fact. Thinking back Charles and Diana also used their interviews to do the same and of course notoriously Andrew. None of them considered the deep hurt they caused to real victims and their own families. I cheered Diana on when I watched the Bashir interview but it caused deep pain to William and Harry. In years to come, Archie and his little sister will see Meghan and Harry's interview and their take on it may be different to what was intended.
True.

Personally don't believe much of what comes out of their mouths, either.

Guess being a professional victim pays well, though.

@TWISTEDbubbles

Alex is a fool and marle verges on the insane and Piers is right every time. The world is sick of wokes and snowflakes with zero intelligence.
Lol at the person calling others insane and lacking in intelligence. Could you re-write that in English, please.

Piers and his fans are the biggest snowflakes going

Yes, I agree

Freedom of speech is all well and good. Doesn't apply to prime time broadcasters on national TV. Even ITV. There should be some element of neutrality. Most decent people think PM was unwise understatement to hound MM as he did.

Lonelycrab · 10/03/2021 19:02

@MrsMackesy

Absolutely.

I don't watch GMTV but a couple of days before this incident, can't quite remember which day, I turned the TV on and it landed on BBC, he was interviewing and I use the term lightly, an MP I think she represents somewhere in Kent, and he was just yelling at her, interrupting her, talking all over her, it wasn't an interview at all, it wasn't a conversation, I presume she was invited to be on the show because of her professional knowledge about something which she was there to explain and answer questions on representing the government. I couldn't believe what I was seeing she was sitting there while PM was screaming and yelling at her like some completely out of control maniac. I have heard things about him on GMTV, that he thinks it is his own personal show rather than a news program that he is part of to give background and information about current new stories. The other people on the program are at their work place doing their jobs and they should not have to put up with this behaviour and I am sure that if this was happening anywhere else it would have been stopped and he would have been sacked ages ago. I think he planned it and it was a stunt but GMTV should have stopped him ages ago and should also take some responsibility too they have badly misjudged his behaviour I am sure most viewers are shocked

Fair play Piers for speaking up and having an opinion. Can’t stand the Woke brigade!

MrsMackesy · 10/03/2021 19:10

For those pps offended by H&M telling their truth, being born into or marrying into the Royal Family, being a celebrity or being wealthy does not protect someone from life's ills.

Maya Angelou said 'I know why the caged bird sings'. That cage can be a gilded one.

Roussette · 10/03/2021 19:11

Not sure they're that keen on you either 😂

LolaSmiles · 10/03/2021 19:18

Chicchicchicchiclana
His ongoing hounding of MM was awful. I don't think many would disagree with you on that.

Of course that is true and we have seen many tragic suicides and depression amongst the rich and famous. Mental health problems can affect you despite your bank balance. My issue is with people like Meghan, Harry, Diana and Andrew telling their truth as they see it because they feel that they are victims and don't 'have a voice'. They authorise books, brief friends, brief journalists.
Sandfairy69 · 10/03/2021 19:29

I’m just watching the argument again and I think @Sussexlady is on to something. PM walked off far too quickly, before Alex had really said all that much. I think trouble had been brewing before they went on air, even Richard Arnold wasn’t smiling and seemed a bit on edge!
I think Alex did an awesome job of speaking up for many! PM is a nasty piece of work and has so much pent up bile in his gut the rest from GMB will do him good!

Poodlefan7 · 10/03/2021 19:30

Good for you Piers Morgan, you have a right to free speech just like Meghan does, so what's all the bother about? get educated people!!

Port1aCastis · 10/03/2021 19:31

I'd rather not call outright bullying free speech

Yes I think you mean an interview with a Social Care Minister Helen something and yes that was bullying.
itsgettingwierd · 10/03/2021 19:36

@Sparklingbrook

I am intrigued about viewing figures. I don't think anyone sits down to watch the whole show. I have it on in the background during my morning routine but can't claim to be avidly 'watching'. But assume it counts as viewing.
Same here.

I'm up at 6.30 and watch his 30 minute Morgan's monologues whilst drinking my coffee and then leave it on in background whilst getting ready etc. I often come in when I like the panel to listen to their views.

I don't watch it rigorously and I'm as guilty as the best person for tuning in just to see what bollocks idea he gets into his head next.

But I think that's what's become his downfall. He thought people all watched because they loved him more than the show. Sometimes I was watching to laugh at him and sometimes I found myself agreeing with what he was saying whilst hating his delivery of a message.

LolaSmiles · 10/03/2021 19:36

I agree.
I also have an issue with the phrase 'their truth'. It's a bit like 'alternative facts' where people start arguing there's multiple realities and therefore they can't be challenged. Then when factual inaccuracies are pointed out, they are dismissed as invalidating experiences, denying my truth. It's all wrapped up in bullshit.

There may be different sides to a story, different experiences and different feelings surrounding the events, and I'm on board with people sharing their views and experiences, but there's one truth.

itsgettingwierd · 10/03/2021 19:47

@RickiTarr

That’s properly cheered me up, actually.

I’m going to go mad and have a cheese scone with my BrewSmile

This proper made me laugh your having a cheese scone to celebrate.

And also now want cheese scones!

Roussette · 10/03/2021 19:48

Good for him getting sacked, yay!!

roxanne119 · 10/03/2021 19:49

Wow don’t agree with how Piers conducted himself but really really don’t agree with how Meghan and Harry have behaved . Why are they blameless even thrown splattered rocks at Kate and William disgusting behaviour 😳

NotTerfNorCis · 10/03/2021 19:50

I think trouble had been brewing before they went on air, even Richard Arnold wasn’t smiling and seemed a bit on edge!

Right at the start PM upset one of the women by saying her dress was a sign of summer, and she said she didn't see what her dress had to do with anything... got quite annoyed. (I don't watch it normally so don't know what she was called.)
