And his obsession with Meghan Markle.

Good. Piers Morgan is obsessed with her. And Alex called it right.

@singingsoprano I agree. That is a line that should not be crossed. As a parent of a child who suffers with intrusive thoughts I'm disgusted by the dismissive attitude on mainstream TV.

How do I complain?

ChancesWhatChances · 09/03/2021 14:48

@Lampzade bit harsh, describing someone on the receiving end of sexism and bullying a coward - and forcing your coworker to either stand up and show what she’s wearing or argue on live tv is bloody bullying and sexism

@Lampzade

I think Piers started off as the pantomime villain and Susannah his helpless , exasperated side kick. Now Piers is a bona fide bully and Susannah is a cowardly fence sitter .
Here's an easy link for anyone else who wants to do the same. Maybe we can get this c**t off our screens

Fair comment. I accept that this may be the case

HmmmmmmInteresting · 09/03/2021 14:50

My link shows the time of broadcast to help fill in the form

I agree about how it started and what the two of them stand for now. I don't know much about Susannah Reid but what woman could sit there next to him when he is bullying all these people?

And yes it is bullying. He asks a question. They say a quarter of a sentence in response and he starts shouting at them. And fires question after question at them like a machine gun, but refuses to let them answer, then wraps up the interview in a 'I knew I was right' way.

He is disgusting

How people watch him and think he is funny or clever or bang on with his opinions god alone knows.

He's a sexist mysoginist oaf who bullies.

PurpleHoodie · 09/03/2021 14:54

Alex Beresford was an absolute class act.

Piers Morgan....was not.

They've got the measure of his obsession with another mans wife

PurpleHoodie · 09/03/2021 14:55

'Stand up: let's see the length of your skirt' ( I paraphrase).

No. Just no.

Roussette · 09/03/2021 15:06

Freckles I hope your child is OK.

Yes, it is disgusting, and I have complained too. I didn't want to say this as it's quite outing, but I've supported suicidal people for ten years and the one thing you just cannot do is dismiss how they are feeling. To hear someone disregards another person's darkest thoughts as 'making it up' could really have a detrimental effect on that person's mental health.

He has issued some sort of apology I believe. It's not enough. I went to look for it and googled 'Piers Morgan apology' and I am beyond shocked at how many official apologies he has had to issue to so many awful things he has said.

Why is this man still in broadcasting?

MintyMabel · 09/03/2021 15:09

@FudgeSundae

Thanks for that bloody ear worm!

CoffeeRunner · 09/03/2021 15:10

@Knitwit99

I did think Alex was a bit off in suggesting William was able to brush off his mum's death and that only Harry was damaged by having to walk behind her coffin. It's not a competition to see who handled it best or worst and it seems like there's enough division between those brothers right now anyway.

But as for PM, spot on.

I think he just meant that they each handled it in their own ways. Not saying that William wasn’t affected just as much, but different people obviously cope in different ways.

It may be that Harry’s mental health is more fragile than William’s. Or just that Harry feels able to talk about it but William doesn’t. Who knows.

I think his point was just replying to Piers’ comment that Harry shouldn’t be suffering because William isn’t.

Mrsjayy · 09/03/2021 15:12

There is an A-,Z of piers Morgan apologies Shock

MintyMabel · 09/03/2021 15:13

Exactly. This is apparently him holding the government to account. I want to hear the answer, even if (especially if) it is a non answer, because that is just as telling. But when he just cuts them off and shouts over them, it is unhelpful.

Sturgeon got on his show and is all blasé about “oh I’m not scared to be interviewed” but that’s because he has no fucking idea what the hell she is doing up here, and frankly, being given the full Piers treatment rather than the fawning love in, might actually be useful.

MintyMabel · 09/03/2021 15:19

It’s also important that they were different ages. Harry was only 12, William a slightly more mature 15. Having a 12 year old so publicly being forced into a stiff upper lip is a bit different to expecting it from a 15 year old, especially one who already was being groomed as the future monarch. Even at that age they would have been raised differently. I’d even suspect he had a different relationship with his mum, than William. I’m sure both have struggled to deal with her death but I can see why it might have been harder for Harry.

Yes this is nauseating.

lemmein · 09/03/2021 15:28

I haven't RTFT but I don't believe for one second it was staged.

I haven't watched GMB for a while (can't stand him!) but there has always been an underlying tension between Alex and Piers. PM constantly tries to humiliate him and uses his status over him - he also does the same to andi Peters, and to a degree Charlotte too! The mans a bully, and should not have a platform to spew his bile everyday - I can't actually believe he still does. We all see it, we all know how toxic he is about MM - yet it's allowed to continue.

I thought he actually looked like he'd been crying when he returned, no way was that set up. Alex has also spoke up in the past when he got annoyed about a whole white panel discussing racism - the man has integrity, I highly doubt he'd be a part of a stunt to increase PMs ratings.

Sparklingbrook · 09/03/2021 15:34

Oh I love Andi Peters. In his garage. He's hilarious. He actually owns the company that does the competitions IIRC and is a millionaire in his own right.
I remember him with Emma Forbes on a Saturday morning. Sigh.

StoneofDestiny · 09/03/2021 15:35

Alex handed Morgan his arse on a plate in seconds! Fantastic
Gob-almighty splattered across the studio to the exit door.

Alex 👏👏👏👏

mummywantstobeslim · 09/03/2021 15:37

He is obsessed with Meghan because she rejected his friendship.
