Idiots guide to Instagram

Can any one give me really simple instructions on how to use Instagram including how to use posts, reels and stories and how to gain meaningful followers

1 - Create account

2 - find people to follow depending on your interests

3 - Take pictures and upload to your "grid" (which is where all your pics are displayed

4 - In the words of Wayne and Garth, "if you build it, they will come" lol.
Just be you, follow people you like/relatable to your content and you'll organically grow and get real followers.

Why do you want 'meaningful followers'?
Are you trying to be an influencer?

Makemedoit · 08/03/2021 20:44

Thank you. By meaningful followed I guess I mean followers who actively engage by liking pictures or making comments

By uploading frequent content (I usually do three to five a week, no more)
commenting on other people's posts (by comments I mean actual commenting, don't come across as a spam bot "great feed!" or whatever, it just makes you look like you haven't really looked at the pics.
If you "put yourself out there" people will naturally follow.
It might take a while doing it this way but it's worth it.

But why? For people to connect to? for work? To feel popular?
Quaagars · 08/03/2021 21:07

Don't think it matters whether it's for work/leisure/popularity or whatever?
OP asked what she could do, people are going to give advise, I don't see how knowing what exactly she's posting about and her motives is relevant.

It really does make a difference if you're looking for - eg a few like-minded souls to discuss a passion or interest with, and potentially make friends, or you're looking for people to engage with a business or commercial entity, or you're just looking for sheer numbers of followers. It makes a huge difference as to how you would go about it!
