Has anyone had a canine tooth removed? What happened to the gap?

My partner might need to have a canine tooth removed due to gum disease and pain. He's really worried about having a visible gap as he is in a public facing job. He will speak with the dentist regarding the options of course, it is an NHS dentist.
But I just wondered what people's experiences are of what happened next after canine tooth removal in terms of the gap? Were you offered a bridge or something? Thanks

An implant would be the best option.

My sister did as it was growing outwards rather than down. Her teeth just shimmied along and you can’t tell.

I might have to do the same and I chatted to a friend who had lots of implants done.
She said the same, ie not worth doing implant for 1 tooth as the others will move enough to make it less obvious. I am holding on to that thought..
