Hoax hmrc calls-multiple calls a day from different numbers

Aghh it’s driving me mad.
At least 2 calls a day with an automated message saying owe some money or whatever (I never really listen now after the first few). I block the numbers as they come but they are all from different mobile numbers.
Is there any way to stop them?

Oh yes Amazon. If I don’t change my payment option/contract then... dunno, something really terrible I guess (maybe I won’t get my loo roll deliver?)

I have an iPhone 6 on the way and an arrest warrant does anyone know if you can take a phone to debters prison these day's?

I had the call about my Internet bill not being paid too I just asked what Internet? They explained i said I dont understand what is Internet? They explained again i asked who is Internet why do they want money from me? I do not understand? So they hung up on me 🤷‍♀️

I've never had the HMRC fake-call, I'm feeling decidedly ignored Grin. Plenty of 'Amazon Prime' and 'Your Internet will be cancelled' calls though. I'm not getting the quantity of calls mentioned here though, maybe one a week, not twenty a dayShock.

I like to take these calls, they usually ask me to press one to speak to a human - and then the fun begins. I try to string the calls out for as long as possible, as per my Mother's belief that "If they're bothering me, they're leaving some other poor bugger alone". But I do have the time, and like I said I'm only fielding one call a week.

I’ve changed my bt message to say “it’s better to contact me by email” - the scammers haven’t got it of course.

On the rare occassion when I do answer an unknown I have had great results by saying “hablas Espanol?” / German/French other - totally throws them!

Also interrogating them, asking questions assertively...

In the old days when Microsoft used to kindly ring to inform you that your computer had multiple viruses only they could remove, I informed the nice gentleman that I didn't have a computer so thought he must be wrong. After a lot of choice language, he told me I was lying, he knew I had a computer because he could see me with his satellite 🤣🤣
