Moving within the UK

First time posting I can't write too much as I am yet to go to court. My ex husband and I live in separate towns and county's. He moved away a few years back and has our children every other weekend I decided to move somewhere else within the UK as I am remarried and have a child with my husband we will be moving closer to husbands family and so will have a good support network. Right now we have no support or any ties to the location we are in. Has anyone experienced this? I've been worrying a lot lately and really losing sleep. He has taken out a court order to stop us moving. I am going to be defending myself as I cannot afford a solicitor.

Hi, OP. Can you clarify, do you mean he has applied for a prohibited steps order, or does he already have one?

Also, how old are the DC? That's going to be relevant if you are going to argue that they can do some independent travel either now or at some point in the near future (post-Covid).

Relatives have been through similar and they came to an agreement in the end.

He has got a solicitor to issue an application to court to seek an order that the children do not move. Children are 5 and 8. He will not come to an agreement he refuses to talk to me. The only contact he has is from the moment he picks them up to dropping them off on his weekends.
