Long curtains - Radiator

I have recently purchased floor length curtains for my bedroom and they look great...when they are open 😊 I tucked them behind the radiator last night and they look a mess. How do you tuck them in without them looking a mess?

My DH starts work early so our heating comes on very early. We also tend to turn it off around 9.30 each night so the option of only closing them when the heating is off doesn’t work. Thanks

I don't think you can

You could fold them over where the radiator is, but if will still off at the sides

We have long curtains downstairs and have to tuck them behind the radiator. We have to carefully position them so they don't get too creased but luckily the material isn't stiff cotton which would be a nightmare.

I hate it TBH, love summer when I can just pull them straight across without a care in the world!

I roll them up from the bottom. They don’t get too creased that way

I fold them up onto the windowsill.

Can't you get a blind and use that so the curtains stay 'dressed'?

Coolerthanapolarbearstoenails · 08/03/2021 09:40

You can't. You'll need to get blinds.

If you continue to do that you'll end up damaging the curtains due to the difference in temp over the fabric.

Get blinds and the curtains stay open. I never close mine as I like them sitting nice as they’re lovely 😊

We moved the radiator.

custardbear · 08/03/2021 13:00

Yes move the radiator if possible - blinds would shut out the world but they're still not keeping in much heat

Dixiechickonhols · 08/03/2021 13:03

You need a blind. We have a Thermal insulated Roman blind plus curtains.

The fabric is going to be damaged by crumpling it up and the heat, you’ll end up ruining your curtains.

If you leave them hanging over, they will block lots of your heat.

This is why all our curtains stop at the bottom of the windows!
