Why would any panellist go on Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid

They have a panellist on to discuss the M&H interview, the guy barely opens his mouth, before he is talked /shouted over not only Piers but Susanna also. It is always like this, but this is worse than ever this morning.

They should be banned from doing any segments on M&H.

People are specifically tuning in to see PM having a rant. It's a ratings winner...

Those that are panellists get paid (whether they get to speak or not) as it's their job-they aren't appearing for free.

I usually watch BBCBreakfast, but am avoiding the telly thuis morning as I can't race the coverage

But the 'shout over' interview style is quite popular - done a lot to MPs too. It's a crude attempt to provoke the interviewee in the hope they'll say something unguarded, or at least answer a (leading) question without challenging the bias

I find it annoying, as I want to hear what the person has to say, and of course that doesn't happen with thus style.

Presumably people agree to go on because it's not predictable when this tactic will be used. And also the appearance fee, of course, plus softer 'recognition' as subject area expert

I can't bear it either. I haven't watched either BBC breakfast or the ITV one since we locked down and I feel much better for it! I ask Alexa for the news headlines then watch the bbc news at 6 or 10pm and that's it. Piers is unbearable - I know a lot of people like him but I would rather start my day without a dose of high blood pressure!

Yep, I had no idea what either of them said there. Grin

The bottom line is that if you tune into Piers Morgan & Co you know exactly what you are going to get, so don't if that offends I suppose. But it's all quite entertaining IMO.

My response were I on such an interview and was not allowed to say anything would be to remind Piers Morgan why he was sacked by the Daily Mirror.

Its just crazy, I never watch This Morning, but was intrigued as to what might be said, Susanna is almost as bad for interrupting and talking over everyone, just she doesn't raise her voice.

Piers Morgan just gets louder and louder and louder. There is no open conversation on this or any other subject because he just talks over people, interrupts and shouts people down.

I have no issue with anyone having their own opinions but when opinions can’t be heard, he shouldn’t be in his position.

I have a dental hygienist appointment this morning and it'll be more enjoyable than watching all this. Grin

It's very successful though in terms of viewer ratings. Lets face it if he was totally on H&M's side nobody would watch.

I have no idea why anyone watches him. I just can’t buy into this idea that people watch piers Morgan/the Jeremy Kyle show/read the Daily mail because they claim that it’s out of “curiosity.” Why not just admit that you like watching them or you wouldn’t.

The man was sacked from the Daily mirror over the phone hacking scandal, stands there on ITV and preaches about people breaking lockdown rules while he fucked off to the Caribbean over Christmas, and nobody bats an eyelid. Why not?

The man seems to slime his way out of everything. And there’s “being honest” and then there’s just shouting over everyone else because you like the sound of your own voice.

He and Katie Hopkins should get together....

I can’t stand them either, equally cringeworthy to watch, PM never lets the person being interviewed reply, and then berates them for it, appalling interview style IMHO.

I don’t think Reid is any better.

Charlotte is far more engaging & professional than the other two, not difficult to be honest.

Piers has simply made a fool of himself
As Trisha Goddard rightly said. He can criticise Meghan for being a social climber or whatever, but to try and tell black people that they are not the victim of racism is wrong.
Piers needs to take a good look at himself.
He is allowing his personal feelings to get in the way of objectivity
This is why people such as Oprah are superior to him in terms of their ability to get information out of people. They try to put their personal opinions to the side. Oprah has no need to shout and holler. Even his colleague Ben Shepherd is a more skilful interviewer than Piers.
Piers is too busy shouting and hollering.
I think his brand of broadcasting ( supposedly saying it like it is ) is outdated and simply stokes the fire of hate .
Every time he criticises someone for their supposed misdeeds, they are bombarded with hate and often death threats. Yet at the same time he talks about the bullying of Caroline Flack which led her to take her own life.
Furthermore, he bullies people daily on his show and then pontificates about the bullying accusations against Meghan. Let us not forget that a few weeks ago a petition was signed by 1200 people accusing Piers of bullying a freelancer.
It’s a shame that Piers does not use his vast platform to promote reconciliation. All he cares about is ratings and revenge
I actually pity Piers, he lacks self awareness.
Unfortunately for him, all his this will eventually blow up in his face. Very sad
