Sexual discrimination case

I have a case for sexual discrimination / harassment in a job I haven’t been in long, and in which I am being made redundant. It’s been an exhausting and awful time with toxic colleagues. A reputable law firm I spoke to said I could potentially get around £8-10k in a settlement.

I’m just wondering whether I go down this route or not. It’s a lot of stress and I wonder if it’s worth it. Then I think I don’t want to be a push over and this kind of money is significant.

What would you do?

I don’t think I would rely on the payout, would there be legal fees to pay out of that also or would your solicitor claim them from the ex employers?

Anyway, I’d like to think I would do it so that those women coming behind me won’t be treated the way I was. However, I know at this moment in time, I wouldn’t be mentally strong enough to go through with it so I would have to walk away.

I hope you soon recover from your awful experience and find a role elsewhere that you enjoy Flowers

Thank you for your kind wishes.

Yes, a big part of it is standing up so that others aren’t treated the same.

There would be £1,000 in solicitor fees.

@ConfusedHR I’ve left my job due to sexual discrimination after my mat leave. As you said reputable Solicitor firms (junior solicitor) told me that Its a case and I could get from 6-9 months of salary. She also told me that she could ask her fees to be covered as part of the compensation fee. BIG BIG Failure!!!
I didn’t get anything even my holiday in lieu when I left. I ended up paying her 1,5K from my pocket.
If I knew what I was going to go through I would think twice. It has been very stressful for me and my family.
I am at early conciliation ACAS process but my ex company is refusing the take part in this too.
I would love to take them to court even though I know I won’t get a penny but I am scared that if someone searches my name and the company they may find out about it.

I would appreciate any advice on this from this group.
