I feel like I’m dying . I’ve phoned 111 who said to wait for a call back but I’m terrified . can’t sit still . Sure I’m seriously ill .

Take some deep breaths, what specifically is wrong?

dailydoseofanxiety · 07/03/2021 19:14

I don’t know . Sitting watching TV, ears popped then had the sudden feeling I was dying and couldn’t do anything about it . I don’t know what caused it . Now feels like everything isn’t real and my legs feel numb and heavy . Horrible .

Lie down with your feet propped up higher than your head and breathe in for a count of 5, hold for 5, out for 5, hold for 5 and repeat. Try to consciously relax your muscles in order from your toes up to your head.
Gives you something to focus on other than just the panic.

Hi OP.

Is this the first time you've felt this way?

RunawayBride2 · 07/03/2021 19:19

Breath in slowly counting to 5 and exhale slowly.

I had a panic attack last week out of nowhere and they are awful. Are you with anyone?

dailydoseofanxiety · 07/03/2021 19:23

I’m with my mum but she has disabilities of her own so
Not able to help much . Due bedtime tablets shortly . I think I know what’s caused it but don’t know how to fix it . Not the first time, same thing happened in September and they said same, panic attacks they think . Done lots of ECGs and blood tests and stuff .

Download the dare app free version and listen to the podcast which feels most relevant. Do you have palpitations and sweats? Someone should be in touch with you from NHS soon, I think they might book you for an appointment with gp. Hopefully getting BP etc checked which will put your mind to ease. Breathe op.

Ive been there OP and still don't think it was a panic attack. What I will say is that I got through it, did every single possible thing to be as healthy as I could be and I have greatly reduced mine, whatever they were. Breathe nice and deeply. Soothe yourself as much as possible, lean on people. If you have something very soft to stroke do that. If someone can stroke you even better. Whatever this turns out to be, doing those things will be ok and could be helpful. Good luck

Spoke to 111, they’re querying a UTI so getting antibiotics dropped off (they won’t allow me to go get as can’t rule out a fever) . Off to bed meantime I think ! I remember dare, that was really helpful before, might try that again - yes to palpitations too .
