This is mine currently but it's on its way out (sorry lovely door!). I can't decide what to go for next.

Please help me! I may otherwise make a decision that will offend my neighbours and distress my children ... :)

Mine is this colour and I love it.

It’s a shame you’re getting rid of your door, when you do, provided it’s not rotten or anything you should sell it on eBay. Someone will buy it for its stained glass.

You could get a composite door with stained glass glazing panels in your (yet to be determined) colour. Have been doing a lot of reading about those as I’ve made an offer on a period property and I’m keen to keep everything in keeping with the era, but want the benefits of warmth and security too.

What’s the rest of the front of your house look like? Might help with colour choices. Are you open to whimsical pastels or looking for something more smart and slick?

Crunchymum · 07/03/2021 18:10

Mine is racing car green.

(Same colour as the picture but this isn't my actual door)

We have navy blue. At the moment a very boring knocker on the door but I'd love to know if I could change it for a lovely bee one

Starlitexpress · 07/03/2021 18:12

Fuchsia, it's very bright and I love it!

theshellhouse · 07/03/2021 18:14

Such a shame to get rid of the original leaded front door :(

onewhitewhisker · 07/03/2021 18:15

oooh yours is a nice door OP. I like the stained glass. Are you replacing or could you just refurbish and repaint?

Mine is F & B Arsenic - just did it as a very loooong drawn out lockdown project. It's basically turquoise.

GuyFawkesDay - I'm sure you could!

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 07/03/2021 18:16

I can't remember, it's been that long since I was on the outside of it. The inside is white.

Ahbahbahbah · 07/03/2021 18:17

Mine is cheerful sunshine yellow.

Airhatess · 07/03/2021 18:18

Oh I'm sorry - I didn't mean the door was going, just the colour.

I like the colour of yours @VivaLeBeaver. I also like yours @Crunchymum, and the idea of fuschia (any chance of a picture?). That is entirely my problem - I like too many colours and can't narrow them down!

The house is a red brick Edwardian semi, and yes I'm open to pastels!

HairyChin · 07/03/2021 18:19

Mine is black

Beavers is awesome... I love that
Colour!

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 07/03/2021 18:21

What colour is the glass in the panel? (I can see some green)
Could you colour match to one of them?
Bright pillar box red or a rich British Racing Green would look good.
Alternatively a rich buttery cream.

Raera · 07/03/2021 18:23

I'd probably try and get a green similar to the colour in the stained glass.

Gazelda · 07/03/2021 18:26

Mine is a fabulously glossy bright red, which apparently is a lucky colour in Chinese culture.
Tiny Victorian cottage, for context.

feellikezerobucks · 07/03/2021 18:27

Purple door and bee door knob, I love it 🥰

I live on a 20 year old estate of 3/4/5 bedroom detached houses, the vast majority with integral garages, with up-and-over doors.

About 8 years ago, I decided to do away with my dark green front door and garage door, painting both the same colour as viva, what I call 'Cotswold grey' as every front door in those honey-stoned villages is that colour! 😊

Anyway, the idea took hold, so now practically all the houses on my close have the same green/grey front door and garage door 😂

Airhatess · 07/03/2021 18:29

It is green in the panel, yes. And a green like @Crunchymum's is a strong contender. I've had it glossy red in the past and would prefer to try something different.

Mines going to be bright yellow when I paint it. This colour www.diy.com/departments/rust-oleum-painter-s-touch-bright-yellow-gloss-multi-surface-paint-250ml/654211_BQ.prd

MrsClatterbuck · 07/03/2021 20:30

Apparently you can now get your door and windows PVC spray painted. I have seen a couple and they did a good job. The doors were PVC composite but they now can spray wood with the PVC.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 07/03/2021 20:33

I’ve just bought a forest green composite door - love it!

...except it looks black in the photo! D’oh!
