Logistics for travelling with toddler

Im planning to travel solo with my 1 y/o which will involve a train journey followed by being picked up in a car at the other side. Do I need to carry a car seat while pushing the pram to the train station? I don't drive so don't currently have a car seat and go everywhere using public transport. This is the first time this situation has presented. Can you get car seats that are travel friendly?

Does your child still fit in an infant car seat and does your pram have adaptors that would mean an infant car seat would attach to it? That might be the easiest option?

Car seats are sooo heavy I'm not sure I could manage that...I'd be asking the person picking you up to borrow one, at least they could trial fit it. Not every car seat fits in every car, not every car has isofix etc etc

We have a travel car seat called Urban Kanga. It folds up pretty small (relatively speaking!) and it comes with a carry bag. I find it very handy.

We only started using it with DD was about 18 months so you’d have to check the age restrictions.

Is it a cab at the other end or a friend? You can often find cab companies that provide travel seats. Or if it’s a friend could they borrow one? That would save you carrying one altogether.

It may even be easier to get a bus after the train if that's possible

Get whoever is picking you up to hire a seat.

Does your friend have someone they can borrow a car seat from?

How long is the journey? You don't necessarily need a car seat if it's a quick nip. Same as in a taxi.

Thank you everyone for your advice! Really appreciate it
