COVID transmission in the household

7yo DD tested positive (after one week back at school - aaargh!) on Monday. DH and I obviously haven't self isolated from her although given we are self isolating as a family have spent lots of time together this week. She has had no symptoms so far.

DH has developed symptoms tonight. Is there any value in us sleeping apart now or am I as infected as I'm going to be?

On the off chance you are not yet infected I would sleep separately because who would look after DD if you both got pretty ill & couldn’t make meals for several days?

Its a faff to sleep apart (spare room is rammed with stuff at the moment). I will if it makes a marked difference but if its a done deal, I'd rather not. I'd also like to keep an eye on him as he's asthmatic.

I wouldn’t bother. When someone in our house got it we figured everyone would as we are always in such close proximity and carried on (at home) as normal.
3 of us had it, 2 didn’t.

It’s not a done deal, that’s why I said I would sleep separately.

We wouldn't be able to sleep apart as we don't have a spare room and I wouldn't sleep on the sofa. However even if we did I doubt one of us would go in the spare room, it doesn't seem worth it when we're together all the time anyway.

I hope you're ok OP.

Hard to say, but all five of us got it one by one and we were really strict about keeping apart within the house (which was horrible). We are lucky enough to have 3 bathrooms so it wasn't as if we were all using one facility either. It just made the whole thing drag on longer and we ended up isolating for more than 3 weeks. Just my experience!
