Issues with Asda - again. Twitter help?

I have namechanged, but been a regular long enough to know that this is sadly common occurance with Asda, hence I dont do home delivery with them. I thought a click and collect would be safe.

I had an order scheduled to collect next week, but then realised I needed the items sooner, so rearranged it for same day collection. I received an amended order email, the money left my account. I then went to collect said order, and they have no record of it being amended - despite me showing them the email. This was the first time I had actually been in a supermarket since March last year as I hadnt realised this particular Asda doesnt have a drive through click and collect, so I was already stressed. Following a rather stressful 40 mins, I left the shop in tears, minus my shopping, and being told that my refund will only be processed following the original order being cancelled next week. So I am not to expect my refund probably until the beginning of week commencing the 15th.

I stressed to them that I am a lone parent, with 2 daughters, 1 disabled and I am disabled myself. Absolutely nothing. I have tweeted them but I dont have much of a following. Could I embarrasingly ask if people would mind retweeting me please? I dont really understand twitter to be honest, so any help on that aspect as well would be great.

Meanwhile I am scouring my cupboards to see what how I can feed us for the next week as I dont have the funds to replace the shopping.

Think I've retweeted. Not great on twitter

Evidencebased · 06/03/2021 18:45

Sorry to hear that.
Hope things get better.
Happy to retweet.

Asdagivememymoney · 06/03/2021 18:56

Thanks all. Just to be totally transparent as I know how these threads sometimes come across... the only thing I'm asking MN posters for is retweets Smile

The post you've had deleted shows your previous username which is now linked to your twitter handle. I'd have this thread deleted tbh.

@kereh I've had a mad few minutes searching my posts in my previous name, and thankfully due to regular name changing, there's nothing too outing I don't think. Thanks for the concern though Smile

Ah good!

I hope you get your shopping sorted ASAP Thanks

majestypalm · 06/03/2021 19:36

they’re absolute fuckers. Tweeting made no difference when they failed to deliver any of my shopping

Can I ask how long you had to wait to be refunded please? Hopefully it wasn't too long.

Retweeted, hope it helps. Flowers

Asdagivememymoney · 08/03/2021 09:02

Thanks Major. Looks like I have to wait 3 to 5 days for the refund then. I got sent a DM apologising but no mention of my request for a faster payment.

Getting my ASD daughter to eat the hodge podge of meals that our store cupboard is providing is going to be somewhat of a challenge...

Ask school for a food bank referral to tide you over. That is what they are there for. Some schools are doing their own food banks.

BlackeyedSusan · 08/03/2021 09:11

This is why I use Morrisons. More reliable. Won't use Asda as they have pissed off too many Mumsnetters and been really shit with refunds.

Bellybootcut · 08/03/2021 09:14

Hate to say it but all the tweeting in the world won't make a difference. They have most likely already processed the refund but the banks take 3 to 5 days to clear the money. Sorry🙁

Asdagivememymoney · 08/03/2021 09:25

Blackeyedsusan, I have got just enough 'make do' food, so DD2 and I can make some exotic creations. But DD1 won't eat anything out of the ordinary.

However. My refund has just gone into my bank! Completely didn't expect it, so I'm now sorting a click and collect sainsbury's order.

Thanks for the retweets!
