Wellies for DC with wide feet / high instep?

I desperately need new wellies for my 4 year old but he is very wide feet and a high instep. I’ve tried him on hand-me-down boots from older sibling and I just can’t get his feet into them (despite the boots being a size bigger than he needs).

When we bought his last boots we had to try on a lot until we found some that fitted, but with shops closed I’m going to have to take gamble online.

Any suggestions?

Same problem here. In the past I’ve bought leather boots from Clark’s etc in a wide fitting. The year he has a pair of snow boots which go on easier as they open right down the front. We also have hiking boots which are waterproof which he loves as he says they’re really comfy and better than wellies for climbing.

I’ve tried to buy him hiking boots before and again had the same problem that I can’t get his feet in at all, despite sizing up.

Happy Little Soles has Bundegaard wellies for wide feet - www.happylittlesoles.co.uk/bungaard-kids-classic-wellington-navy.html (loads of other colours)

They're pricy for kids' wellies but returns are free if they don't fit.

I've recently bought the Bundegaard ones for my wide-footed toddler, and I can confirm they are visibly wider (and more square across the toes) than your average wellies.

I'm hoping her feet become more average in width before I have to find her walking boots...
