Finding Friends

I have realised I need to find some more friends , I have a few good reliable ones but still seem to feel lonely. Perhaps this is due to recently losing my mum and dad. I am on my late 40 's and one of the ideas I toyed with as I love music is joining a rock choir fairly local to me once restrictions allow.Does anyone have experience of them and would it be worthwhile in finding a friend or two ? Thanks

Do you have any groups in your area? There is a group exactly for this set up near where I live and they post on our local Facebook page from time to time.

I find walking around my village I often see someone I know or one of the neighbours and we stop and chat. It helps to get to know people.

There are Facebook groups for different interests so you could make some online friends that way for example a group for people who enjoy singing or music or anything your enjoy or your pets even. I set up a group related to one of my interests and it now has lots of members. I find the social interaction is nice.

I joined a group through Mumsnet specially for people who wanted to make more friends. I can see if I can send you the link if you're interested. There is a book club by zoom that they do and sometimes quizzes.

Once you can go to local groups I'm sure that would certainly help.

Do you go out to work? I work from home at the moment full time and social interaction is more limited.
