I was one of the people who designed the concept but did not get credit for its invention?

Hi, we had a concept design workshop where a bunch of people were asked for potential design solutions for a technical problem. Everyone came up with ideas and mine was very similar to the guy in the most senior position (guy 1). He’s involved in taking it from concept to invention (setting direction) whilst an engineer (guy 2) also at the workshop would be involved in actually building it

Out of 20 designs, my design and guy 1’s designs were in the top 2 along with another idea. I think it’s also partly because guy 1 drives the design that he kinda favoured his own naturally. My design was 99% similar to guy 1’s design yet they present it as invented by (guy 1 and 2’s names). Even the name of the invention is both their names combined.

Am I right to feel it’s unfair or not? Admitedly I was not involved in the invention stage and guy 1’s design already contained all/most of the elements anyway but I still came up with something very similar on my own afford do feel a bit sad I’ve been given no credit at all.in design stage, both guy 1 and my drawings were included as the top ideas in guy 2’s presentation but now all the credit seems to go to guy 1 and 2...

Make a fuss about it, it seems to be a running theme. Men taking credit for work of women.

Your design was included in a presentation by guy 2, so you're one of the designers. Make a fuss.

Whilst I agree that a lot of women in STEM are overlooked, I’m not sure that’s the case here. Did Guy 1 actually take anything from your design or is it just the case his was similar and he went forward with his design? Did your design come first abs influence his or was it just the best way to tackle an issue so two people came up with it?
