Face products for teens!

I'm looking for some recommendations from those with teens / preteens.

My DS12 has got to that age where he has started getting some spots. What do teens nowadays use? In my day it was Clearasil and Oxy, I remember them being so harsh though and full of chemicals.

Is there anything that anyone can recommend? At the moment I've just told him to use regular soap (I buy Dove, no idea if that's any good!) and a clean flannel every day.

I had horrible skin when I was younger and it made me so self conscious. I really don't want him to feel the way I used to so hoping skin care has improved for teens!

I have freederm facial wash for my boys aged 12 & 14. It's really good & keeps spots at bay. There's a whole range. Well worth a look.

I used to think I needed proper cleansers, toners etc when I was younger. I'm old now (😁!) and I've realised that the fewer products I use, the better my skin. A flannel wrung out in hot water is enough to clean the face. Followed up with the flannel wrung out in cold water to close the pores. Perhaps he could try that first to see if it's enough.

DS(14) uses Carbon Theory Charcoal and Tea Tree Bar, it’s been really good for his spotty skin, plus it’s a bar it lasts ages too and it’s not ridiculously expensive either (£6).

DS is an absolute soap dodger but even he likes this one and uses it willingly!

My teen dd uses cereve face cleanser, not to harsh and very popular with teens. My dd does have problematic skin and finds this works for her.

Thank you so much for the recommendations, I'll check them all out. DS has always been good at showering every morning and plays sports so often showers in the evening too. He does STILL need told to remember deodorant and to actually use shampoo in his hair 😂
