Men's tie clip...or something else!

Hi!

I am looking to buy my husband something for the impending birth of our first born. I know he will have bought me something and would like to do the same. Something sentimental that he can keep/use/wear.

He already has a few lovely watches, some lovely cufflinks he was given for his 30th, nice pen.

I was thinking perhaps a tie pin. He has to wear a tie every day for work, so it's something that would be used. The problem is, where from? He is not a fan of a designer label, so nothing like Gucci, Ted Baker etc. He has much of a classic style. He probably knows lots of classic or old school designers, but I obviously can't ask him! Can anyone recommend a brand or some pant I could look at? Ideally gold. Could happily be vintage, second hand.

Or recommend a different present entirely!

Thanks all :)

Have a look at eBay under 'Antique Tie Pin' - Men's Jewellery. Some lovely ones there.

Have you tried Etsy, or Not on the high street?

Not on the High Street is good for this.

My go to for DH would be cufflinks. He has loads and would love more.

Personally I don’t like tie pins. Not sure why.

Another item could be a money clip, but in this time of Apple Pay and contactless payment, I don’t think many men would use them.

Oh just remembered I got DH collar stiffeners engraved with our 2 children’s names and DOB’s for Fathers Day once. Just in case he forgets!

I haven't seen a man wear a tie-clip in years. I haven't had one since the 70s. Do they still make them? My suggestion would be cuff-links. You can never have too many pairs.
