Help with Instagram highlights please!!

I'm fairly new on insta but want to put my products on different highlights.
How do I create a new highlight and use photos from my phone? It's only allowing me to select previous stories to add to the highlight which I don't want..

Please help!

I think you need to post your photos onto your stories first and then highlight them. They are highlights of your stories so you can’t just post a photo straight to highlights if that makes sense?

Oh no I feared that was the case. I'll have to start posting stories now then 😆

Stories are good because they encourage more interaction with your account, Instagram algorithm is weird and just because people follow you it doesn’t mean they’ll see your posts so stories can help draw attention to them or your account- good luck!
