For me either a seafood risotto or a good quality steak with chips and mushrooms.

A localish Italian does a fantastic starter-sharing platter of all sorts of salami, olives, prawns, calamari etc. That. Something for everyone in our family, from meat lover to veggie.

A veggie burger at the Pedal A Bike Away cafe at the Forest of Dean. After a decent bike ride!

So sad - let’s hope the vaccine rollout speeds up and everyone can get back to the old normal soon...🇨🇾

@IHaveBrilloHair

Whatever is on the tasting menu at The Kitchin in Edinburgh. My favourite restaurant ever.
It is amazing ❤️ I’ve been a few times and cannot wait to go again.
FredAstairesChair · 03/03/2021 21:07

A proposal Grin

BikeRunSki · 03/03/2021 21:18

@KatnissNeverseen

I don't care what it is as long I haven't had to cook it!
Yes!!!

Although DD would love Yo Sushi!!

Our nearest one is 30 mins/20 miles away, in a shopping centre. No take out/Just Eat possibilities.

Mum2jenny · 03/03/2021 21:22

Interested to see several ppl want to eat at Miller and Carter. We went once and the food was absolutely rubbish but expensive. Maybe our local one is just crap but I couldn’t and wouldn’t ever go there again or recommend them

HeronLanyon · 03/03/2021 21:31

Just tonight was hungry but didn’t want anything I have.
I want - Thai or Malaysian or Vietnamese or Chinese or Indian. Lots of it. Good restaurant. I want staff to still be there which of course they won’t be in lots of cases. Very upsetting. A few have shut for good. Oh well I had a brief moment of food excitement there.

Some are terrible but there are 2 within 25 mins drive of us and the food is great (steak always cooked perfectly). We also have shares in Mitchell and Butler so get 12 x 20% off vouchers each year.
Mum2jenny · 03/03/2021 21:55

@Titsywoo please avoid the one near nottingham as it’s dire

@Sexnotgender
I've been 10 times over the years the staff know my friend and I now and last time we went, we went into the kitchen to have our pre dessert and watch the chefs cook and meet Tom himself of course.
There was a card on our table when we arrived for my birthday and I was given a special dessert with a candle in it.
He's a lovely man we've met Michaela, his wife too, utterly lovely, and stunning.
I can't rave about it enough.
Oh and the cheese trolley

SteelMack · 03/03/2021 22:21

@Paul72

Just being served nice food and wine. We're vegetarian so choose where we go but we just enjoy having food cooked for us and served to us and no washing up.
Everyone chooses where they go - that's not something unique to vegetarians GrinWink
Figgygal · 03/03/2021 22:22

Steak or a really good burger

weegiemum · 03/03/2021 22:23

A wonderful meal from our favourite tapas restaurant. Can't wait for them to open again.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 03/03/2021 22:26

I'm booking a meal at our towns posh Chinese restaurant for May,can't wait.

Bedforme · 03/03/2021 22:27

Good dimsum restaurant- not sure it will have survived in our city.

wanderedlonelyasacloud · 03/03/2021 22:31

Calamari, carbonara, creme brulee

RampantIvy · 03/03/2021 22:34

Thai food. We have a fabulous Thai restaurant not far away. My own Thai cooking isn't as good - probably because I can't easily get hold of all the ingredients.

FrankiesKnuckle · 03/03/2021 22:38

Another for Tapas from my favourite place - even though it's a trek from ours (a train ride!)
I've had a good burger from a local, once a week type thing, burger van.
I've had Thai from a local, very highly regarded place, curry and Chinese.
I can cook a mean medium rare steak with mushrooms and a brandy pepper sauce.

I want that tapas. I want vibrancy, drinks poured and marsala chicken livers. And patatas bravas. Boequerones.
And a train ride.

titchy · 03/03/2021 22:40

A Hawksmoor steak with creamed spinach.

butterry · 03/03/2021 22:47

Dim sum with all my family, sitting around the big round table and sharing food together.

Sexnotgender · 04/03/2021 06:41

That’s lovely @IHaveBrilloHair Smile

The lady who married us was meant to marry Tom and Michaela but was ill on the day! I believe she christened his children though.

toomanyspiderplants · 04/03/2021 06:47

Nothing. ,we haven't eaten out for so long and it's generally overpriced and underwhelming.

MaryIsA · 04/03/2021 06:52

The most amazing Japanese restaurant opened up 15 minutes drive from us. In the most unlikely place. In a town with mediocre pizzas, dull ping pub food and a tea shop with dry scones. We live in the areas end of nowhere and this place is like stepping somewhere completely different.

This beautiful, subtle amazing restaurant opened up. We went once before lockdown....sashimi, teryaki, Shabu Shabu agidashi dofu, ...it was unbelievable and incredibly good. Like a magic door into Kyoto.

I’m desperate to go back.

ItIsntVienna · 04/03/2021 07:55

@tobee

Seeing other people. Hearing other people.
Yes. The atmosphere. 🥘
Druidlookingidiot · 04/03/2021 07:58

We’ve eaten too well under lockdown. I’m a decent cook, so we’ve had plenty of nice steaks etc. What I’m looking forward to, is getting ready to go out and actually going out.
