For me either a seafood risotto or a good quality steak with chips and mushrooms.

An iced Fanta. Dreadful, horrible thing I haven’t had in years, but it was always the drink of choice when we were kids (or hangover) and that first taste of cold and bubbles is heaven.

After that, the spicy noodles at this little place where I used to live in London. Followed by the tofu in peanut sauce and the grilled aubergines. Someone else clearing away my plate. I miss that.

As a family we eat at Miller and Carter loads so a medium rare ribeye with onion loaf and chunky chips will be amazing.

My favourite meal though is a big bowl of ramen at Ippudo in London. AMAZING.

A nice turkey dinner with all the trimmings plus cake and custard 😍

weebarra · 03/03/2021 19:49

A meal with my DH, somewhere with no kids and that neither of us have had to prepare.

MrsBDarcy · 03/03/2021 19:51

Anything. I just don't want to clear plates away and cook it.
I'd like pad Thai, courgette fritters with feta, a nice veggie burger and crispy deep fried sweet potato fries, garlic mushrooms, garlic prawns and wine by the glass until I decide which I like then a bottle.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 03/03/2021 19:53

Chinese, proper Chinese not take away.

malteasergeezer · 03/03/2021 19:54

Lovely salad, warm bread with great olive oil, delicious spaghetti 🍝... red wine....and yes no washing up!!
Also looking forward to being able to tip waiting staff again Smile

ToadsThePeanutButterSnob · 03/03/2021 19:54

This is very specific but pizza from Prezzo. Hopefully they don't all close down before then.

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/03/2021 19:56

Whatever is on the tasting menu at The Kitchin in Edinburgh.
My favourite restaurant ever.

BiddyPop · 03/03/2021 19:59

Relaxed ambience - aka no stroppy teen interrupting the meal with major demands that cannot be met.

And being able to choose, just what I want to eat, rather than what everyone else will actually accept....

In terms of actual food, probably something seafood and tasty, and something sinful for dessert (probably involving all 3 of chocolate, cream and %)....

I’ve just been having this conversation with my dad on WhatsApp. We’re both deeply bored of our own cooking and would like a meal that we haven’t planned, shopped for, cooked and cleaned up, possibly at the Ivy.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 03/03/2021 20:05

Anything! Just that magic moment when you're sitting back with wine, relaxed and having a good chat, eyeing up other people's choices as they whizz by, and then a cheerful server appears with your choice at exactly the right time, and it looks and smells amazing.

bearlyactive · 03/03/2021 20:05

The atmosphere!!! Forget the food, just the atmosphere... and the smells... and the laughter and chatter...

KatnissNeverseen · 03/03/2021 20:07

I don't care what it is as long I haven't had to cook it!

FairlyOddmother · 03/03/2021 20:15

I just want to not have to think about it, shop for it and cook it. The idea of being presented with a menu and deciding what I want to eat right then, is perfect 👌

Seeing other people. Hearing other people.

endlesswicker · 03/03/2021 20:48

@AnyFucker

An excellent steak.
Ditto.

Try as I might, I can't cook a steak like that.

Oh I can smell it now! We're anticipating problems tomorrow, I've heard the army are on stand by to break up parties Shock

flakymate · 03/03/2021 20:50

Very basic but top tier pasta from a posh Italian restaurant

DenisetheMenace · 03/03/2021 20:52

Nothing. Spent years professionally dining in fabulous restaurants. Last thing we want to do now, seriously can’t be doing with dressing up anymore.

We’re quite old and lazy though and totally understand why other people will be missing them.

The one thing I really used to enjoy was a professional matching courses with wine. A skill we can’t replicate at home. Makes such a difference to the food.

letsnotscaretheneighbours · 03/03/2021 20:53

Married to a Chef so I'm spoiled for good food at home, but I'd love a Sea Bass or a meal at Miller & Carter's. I love a good blue steak.

lastqueenofscotland · 03/03/2021 20:56

A really good pizza
Supermarket pizza is all cardboard
It doesn’t travel super well so even the nice take always it’s not quite right
