We used to lick envelopes?
Used to see people on our Birthdays?
Used to go out for dinner?

Just musing really. I was writing a Birthday card for a friend and realised that the last time I licked an envelope was probably Xmas 2019 and it's not anything ever I'm likely to do again now I've stopped and thought about it.

But not seeing people on their Birthdays is still sad, my friend is probably one of the last people who managed to celebrate her birthday before lockdown one last year, and another friend will soon have her second lockdown birthday.

I know that things are improving and there is hope around the corner, but writing that card has set me off a bit.

Any small acts getting to other people just now?

On Valentines's day I saw a woman at the post box plant a great big wet kiss on the card as she posted it. The postman arrived to empty the box a few minutes later and handled it. Some people just have no common sense. I'm going through a lot of sellotape sealing all my work post although to be honest licking any envelope now seems a bit gross, most have those sticky strips on.

Oh, that's not a nice thought.

Then again, valentines used to be about meeting up with your beloved not some chaste victorian exchange of cards.
