Mumsnet hive mind I need your help.
My mum had her wedding ring stolen in the late 80's, she has now sadly passed and I'm trying to trace an identical ring for a gift to my DSis.
After much searching I have found it on the net, but it has unfortunately sold (pic below) it was made in the 1950's and is made of gold hearts set within two platinum bands.
Any sightings or suggestions welcome.
Thank you.

I'm pretty adept at finding stuff on the internet, but can't see anything the same yet. A few similar, but nothing spot on
Have you thought about having one made?

I’ve seen similar Irish wedding bands.

SentimentalFool · 02/03/2021 18:26

Thanks both, I've done extensive googling myself and not managed to find any, other than the one that was sold Would prefer an authentic older one and I'm happy to wait

My daughter received a ring when she was born from her grandad, he bought it from a vintage jewellery shop in Kerry, this design is very beautiful and was quite popular, I’m away with work but I can try and find out the name of the shop at the weekend.

Thanks faqs if it was caragh jewellers I have dropped them an email, they were so helpful and although they are unable to help they are sending the photo to their suppliers to see if they can help. Thanks for the heads up

bwr-london.co.uk/ can make what you are after. They are very reasonable.

Have you got Facebook? There’s a page called “lostbox” lots of people on there that are fantastic at finding/sharing things. It may be possible that someone on there has specialist knowledge or through people doing house clearances etc.

My amazing sister had a bespoke ring commissioned for my 50th. An amazing copy of Mum's wedding ring.

I was absolutely shocked and speechless, I had no idea, I am overwhelmed and very emotional.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. All I have to do now is come up with something even half as thoughtful and inspiring for her 50th in 18 months.

Aw that's so lovely

Musicalmistress · 02/04/2021 13:47

Aww that's amazing, although does mean you need to come up with a new idea for hers. Lovely that you both think along the same lines 😁

What a lovely gift and sister.
