What are you doing to treat yourself at the moment?

I am feeling that I deserve a 'treat' of some sort. I've been having a bit of a crap time. Won't bore with the deatails but it's health things. So I can't have 'unhealthy' food or a bottle of riocha. Also have a birthday soon. So what small (or big) things would you treat yourself with at the moment?

Skin care. New trainers. Slogan jumpers. Nice mugs for my coffee. New pyjamas. A nice candle. Anything that smells of lavender. Decent shampoo/conditioner

Just trying to keep my head above water so not sure these are big treats, but little ones:
Bath salts
Moisturiser, lipstick, nail polish, toiletry bag
Robovac!
Flowers
Cookbook
Afternoon to yourself watching a movie
Something from John Lewis or similar as returns / customer service are so easy- I bought a posh notebook as I use these

Squeejit · 02/03/2021 13:49

I sometimes buy myself flowers. They make me smile!

alloverthecarpetagain · 02/03/2021 13:51

New book from a favourite author, anything from L'Occitane or Molton Brown, some bulbs for summer pots, bunch of daffodils.

applesandpears33 · 02/03/2021 13:52

Nice, expensive healthyish food eg wild salmon, shelfish, venison, steak

GirlLovesWorld · 02/03/2021 13:54

Once a week I slather myself in moisturiser head to toe, and lie on my bed for an hour reading until it soaks in.

I got a camera and talk myself for walks in random places.

peaceanddove · 02/03/2021 13:55

I've just bought a really pretty counted cross stitch and treated myself to some beautiful embroidery scissors, pretty pin cushion and a drawstring bag to keep it all in. Everything was from Etsy and it makes me so happy Smile

CarolinaWeeper · 02/03/2021 14:32

A houseplant (or ten) from The Little Botanical.

Ninkanink · 02/03/2021 14:34

I’m saving £1 per day towards a big handbag purchase to mark my 45th birthday.

Xiaoxiong · 02/03/2021 14:35

Sunglasses (from Boots, £25)
Facewash
Jumper and pyjamas (nicer than I would usually buy, from John Lewis)
Meal kits from lovely restaurants
Membership to an excellent barre fitness website - swallowed hard at £15/month at first but it's been worth every penny, as it's made me actually do the videos to get my money's worth

Oh yes, I buy flowers every couple of weeks or so (basically whenever I go to the supermarket). Just a cheap little bunch of daffodils or tulips, or whatever takes my fancy. It brightens up our kitchen and dining room for at least a week, often longer.

I also bought a little selection of mini succulents recently to start off a collection.

Ninkanink · 02/03/2021 14:39

Oops don’t know how I managed to quote that!

Congrats on your lovely crafting materials though!🌷

JemimaMuddledUp · 02/03/2021 14:39

Currently my little treats list includes:

Nice skincare products
New make up (have discovered that I need more blusher and lipstick to look alive on Zoom than I do in real life)
Books, especially novels that I can get totally lost in
Scented candles as I'm spending so much time at home
Houseplants

WorriedMillie · 02/03/2021 14:41

A peaceful bath or shower, with posh bubble bath and candles
Nice tea bags (23p each, compared to my usual 3p each ones). I like the Joe’s teas and buy them in catering bags
I like buying craft stuff, it appears I enjoy buying more than using 🙈 I make jewellery and occasionally make myself a pretty necklace or bracelet

Besom · 02/03/2021 14:55

Thank you. It just gives me so much pleasure. The bag especially, it's made from Liberty fabric and lined with lavender satin and the drawstring is a lavender velvet ribbon ❤️❤️❤️

I feel like I'm in a Jane Austen novel every time I use it x

Alternista · 02/03/2021 18:58

A new pair of earrings
A new notebook
Fiendishly expensive healthy ready meals from Waitrose
Books
Perfume

Alternista · 02/03/2021 18:58

New socks!

Alternista · 02/03/2021 18:58

Or a new mug 😁

Lindy2 · 02/03/2021 19:07
  • Flowers.

  • A nice room airfreshner
  • Bubble bath
  • An afternoon nap Grin

I have bought perfume, trainers and lots of scented candles.

I got a good bonus from work recently so I am having some earrings made by a jeweller in my favourite town. They make moulds of pebbles from the beach and turn them into silver jewellery.

They give you everything in a presentation box so every piece is unique. I have a necklace and love it.

PracticingPerson · 03/03/2021 06:29

What cheers me most is crafting supplies or board games. They get a lot of use and I enjoy all the time it takes to research beforehand. Especially with the craft stuff of course there is the wellbeing aspect of doing it plus having something you love when finished.

Bath oil! I love neal’s yard and right now a hot bath is my treat at the end of every shift at work. It makes my flat smell beautiful!
Books! Currently trying to read more to calm myself/be in the moment
Flowers- once a week I buy a £5 bunch of roses from M&S and place them in my lovely John Lewis vase in the living room. It really lifts me to look at them.
My local Italian Deli- I am obsessed! Once a week on a day off (could be week day or weekend) I buy a panini, fresh olives, cannoli and sometimes a nice bottle of wine or olive oil.
I feel exceptionally lucky to have an M&S and Italian deli within walking distance of my flat too, just around the corner!

A takeaway coffee whenever I can get one. A magazine. Buying earrings (I love earrings!). Bunch of daffodils. The nicest versions of my favourite food! Listening to music on the rare chance I get a child free walk. A new book for my Kindle.
