Who (in the whole world, dead or alive) would you most like a coffee and a natter with?

I don't mean getting together with people we know post-Covid. Let's assume we're in 'normal times'...

I'm talking about spending an hour with anyone from any place and any time.

I have two (really quite different LOL):

  1. The lady who was the first person to own my house in 1901. It seems so 'near' to our time but life was so different for her. I would love to ask her all about her life, what my house looked like, what her political opinions were, what she imagined the future to be like.
  1. Jesus. Grin. I would love to ask how he convinced people that he'd done all those tricks and whether he's shocked that he's remembered (and worshipped!!) 2,000 years later.

What about you...

My granny

ListeningQuietly · 02/03/2021 11:04

Nigel Farage. Dead.

Walkingthedog46 · 02/03/2021 11:04

My mum, because there are so many things I’d like to ask her about family history and her past that I never thought to ask when she was alive.

Rubybluesy · 02/03/2021 11:05

Nigel Farage. Dead.

JK Rowling. I would love to chat Potter with her for hours, but only after thanking her about a billion times over for putting her head above the parapet in standing up for the rights of women and girls.

I also think she probably has a wicked sense of humour and would be very very funny after a couple of drinks. Smile

WineInTheWillows · 02/03/2021 11:05

I think your second point is a bit offensive and goady, OP, if I'm honest.

It'd probably be my FIL. He died alone due to COVID and, presuming he knows he's dead, I'd like to talk to him about it, introduce him to his baby grandson and thank him for leaving us his house.

Rubybluesy · 02/03/2021 11:05

And my Mum Thanks

SuperHansBag · 02/03/2021 11:07

Not intended to be goady or offensive at all. Apologies.

ListeningQuietly · 02/03/2021 11:11

jackstini · 02/03/2021 11:12

Jesus. So much knowledge and history about him I feel was lost - I would love to know more and get his views on the world today

BlackSabbath · 02/03/2021 11:15
  1. My grandad
  2. Freddie Mercury
Weirdfan · 02/03/2021 11:18

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 02/03/2021 11:19

Plump82 · 02/03/2021 11:20

BiggerBoat1 · 02/03/2021 11:20

Sandi Toksvig. Love her!

waterlego · 02/03/2021 11:21

My Mum and Dad.

BikeRunSki · 02/03/2021 11:24

My mum (haven't seen her since July) and dad (died nearly 30 years ago). I’d get my siblings along too. Havn’t seen any of them for 15 months -3 years (we all live in different countries or parts of the UK).

IAcceptCookies · 02/03/2021 12:06

Dr Seuss and Charles Dickens. There's something about their style, humour and some of their little subtle details that make me think I'd get on with them. Certainly, I'd find them interesting at the very least.

IAcceptCookies · 02/03/2021 12:10

Also my grandfather, who had a very interesting life and lots of amazing experiences during the war. He died before I was old enough to have talked with him about those things.

Anordinarymum · 02/03/2021 12:13

Myself thirty years younger. I would tell me to get rid of my husband as he is a lousy piece of shite, and have a piece of cake with that cuppa.

Whatafabulousday · 02/03/2021 12:14

I thought Jesus was quite funny actually 🤣

My mum who died over 20 years ago, boy I'd love to chat with her now

AgeLikeWine · 02/03/2021 12:16

Charles Darwin.

MaddeningtheUnhelpful · 02/03/2021 12:18

My Nan
Celebrity wise Stephen Fry or David Bowie
