Who (in the whole world, dead or alive) would you most like a coffee and a natter with?

I don't mean getting together with people we know post-Covid. Let's assume we're in 'normal times'...

I'm talking about spending an hour with anyone from any place and any time.

I have two (really quite different LOL):

  1. The lady who was the first person to own my house in 1901. It seems so 'near' to our time but life was so different for her. I would love to ask her all about her life, what my house looked like, what her political opinions were, what she imagined the future to be like.
  1. Jesus. Grin. I would love to ask how he convinced people that he'd done all those tricks and whether he's shocked that he's remembered (and worshipped!!) 2,000 years later.

What about you...

My late DH.

If I had a choice for a second person without sacrificing any opportunity to spend time with DH, it would be the Queen, because I bet she has had an interesting life and I would like to hear about her travels. Only if she was candid though, wouldn't be much fun if she was being the Queen at the time.

My dad. He passed away just over two years ago. So many things I'd love to talk to him about.

octoberfarm · 02/03/2021 12:30

My Grandma and Grandad, in a heartbeat.

Brendabigbaps · 02/03/2021 12:32

My grandma, she died when I was 6 and I have memories of her but I’d love to talk to her.
All my other grandparents died before I was born

And Keith moon,

AwesomeSauce4 · 02/03/2021 12:34

My son. I'd give anything for just one more minute with him.

TheEasterBunnies · 02/03/2021 12:36

My Grandpa. He died in 2017. I used to phone him up every day for a chat and I miss chatting to him. So much.

ZooeyS · 02/03/2021 12:37

My utterly wonderful dad, it's been ten years and I still miss him terribly.

TheEasterBunnies · 02/03/2021 12:37

This thread is so terribly sad. Most of us just want one more chat with someone we've lost. Flowers

lightand · 02/03/2021 12:38

God
May as well go to the very top!

zafferana · 02/03/2021 12:40

My lovely grandparents who died 15 and 25 years ago. I'd love to have them round for tea, introduce them to their grandchildren, show them our house and garden. It surprises me how much I still miss them.

goldielockdown2 · 02/03/2021 12:42
  1. Jeff Buckley
  2. Anne Boleyn
zafferana · 02/03/2021 12:43

*great-grandchildren obviously

Floralnomad · 02/03/2021 12:43

My first horse , she was the absolute best person to chat to , got me through my teenage years , getting married , 2 very difficult pregnancies and the death of my father . She was a fabulous listener and never judgemental despite having lots of issues of her own .

Floralnomad · 02/03/2021 12:44

I should add that she died aged 27 after a long illness .

IpanemaNova · 02/03/2021 12:49

My Nan and my mil. I’d love a catch up and to show them how my children have grown. They were the two family members who really had time for me. Miss them so much.

HumphreyCobblers · 02/03/2021 12:52

Robertson Davies.

CeibaTree · 02/03/2021 12:54

My lovely much missed dad.

GoryGilmore · 02/03/2021 12:56

My Nan and Grandad. I adored them, would love to be able to tell them all about their great grandchildren.

shutterteal · 02/03/2021 12:58

My Dad. So many things we discovered after his death, and so many things I wish I'd properly listened to.
The more the years pass the bigger the mysteries.

Freshair85 · 02/03/2021 13:01

My Dd and my Mum 💕💕

I would love to share a bottle of whisky with Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra and have a sing-song with them.

bearlyactive · 02/03/2021 13:05

Oh goodness, so many. My grandads (they both died recently). Princess Diana. My grandma (died when I was 6 - so much to ask her). Any of the members of ABBA Grin

Impatientwino · 02/03/2021 19:14

My mum

LifeOfBriony · 02/03/2021 19:21

My Grandma, who had a stroke when I was very small and with whom I was never able to have a proper conversation. We used to stay with my grandparents a couple of times a year (they lived in a different part of the country) and as children we knew she loved us very much, but she lost the ability to speak.

huggzy · 02/03/2021 19:33

My Grandad. He passed away when I was pregnant with DD, I'd love to introduce them. I'm incredibly lucky to still have my other grandparents, so I'd love to be able to spend some time with the one I no longer have.
