I have an interview for a homeless outreach nurse. I am reading and rereading everything. Any thoughts on what questions might come up in the interview? I want this job so much but fear my nerves will overcome me

Hi from an insomniac mental health nurse.
Making sure you are able to understand some of the contributory factors to someone becoming homeless such as mental health issues, substance misuse issues, family breakdown, financial issues.

Knowledge of the vulnerability of homeless people to an array of physical problems, barriers to seeking healthcare.

Non-judgmental attitude, compassionate, excellent communication skills, good knowledge of other agencies that support the homeless, working collaboratively and wanting to make a real difference.

Be ready to speak about your own values and where they came from.

Be ready to answer scenario based questions about safeguarding.

Be able to talk about the impact of Covid on homelessness and how that impacts the service.

Be ready to discuss safeguarding.
And research local agencies and charities you might refer to.
And if they ask, when is the best time to ring your client who uses alcohol, it's not first thing due to hangover, and it's not too far after lunch as alcohol may have been drunk by then and they won't remember your health advice.
Good luck!

I would assume some sort of risk formulation question, safeguarding question, multi agency work and some sort of diversity question

I would also be looking at making sure I had examples of desculation/managing conflict, something I did well, a mistake I've made, partnership working

Good luck!

Thank you. A lot of those questions did come up! I really struggled over teams and it was hard to establish rapport.

Scenario -questions were quite convuluted and wordy and I struggled to hear so was constantly asking for clarification. I doubt I was successful! Thanks for help!
