I have an interview (via Teams!!) In a week's time for a job as a Housing Solutions Officer with my local council. I'm petrified, I hate interviews. Has anyone any insight into what the panel may expect from me?

TIA :)

You have my sympathy, I've done a few recently and now I bloody hate them too, having not really minded them in the past.

I'm not that sure but I'm guessing they will want you to know some housing policy/legislation?

Maybe things like how who you would work with a multi agency approach?
Suggestions for improvement.
Current legislation.

Perhaps the HPU and Right to Refer and the private rental referrals etc

Make sure you know about gdpr(data protection) and equalities and discrimination as well as the suggestions above.

I recently lost out on a job I'd done well before and had plenty of relevant experience in. All because someone else could quote chapter and verse about GDPR including what happens if not adhered to (legalities etc).

I used to work in this area, I would expect some questions about housing legislation and local policies/priorities (can be found on council website)

Also more soft skill question like ability to handle stressful or emotive situations and prioritise during busy periods with desperate people all wanting your help.

The good thing about teams interviews is that you can have your notes nearby and glance at them if stuck! The questions will be based around the person specification and job description. Have examples of how you have dealt with certain situations, ie, person presents as homeless - what checks do you do etc
