Social/council housing advice?

I’m currently on the list. I have seen a house this week but it says connection to the place, I’m around 10 minutes away, so does that mean I cannot bid on this property? It has the option and I have bid but in the particulars it says connection required 🤔 sorry I’m all new to this!

Just ask?

But usually "local connection" means you live or work somewhere in the same council's area as the property.

It depends on the restriction normally in the s106 attached to the original planning. Some are live or work in the parish, others include adjacent parishes and yet more define local as the local authority area. The easiest way to find out what "local connection" is would be asking the landlord.
