I'm sure I can remember seeing one but I can't find it now...

I'm 43 and attempting to apply for university and would be good to talk to others in similar situation. Thanks!

I thought so too, and went off to find it. No, not there! Can you ask in site stuff, and maybe MN will enlighten?

RhinestoneCowgirl · 02/03/2021 14:41

Thanks, I will try posting in Site Stuff.

I did find a thread in Higher Education for mature students applying in 2021, but don't know how active it is.

I also found mature students thread via Advanced search, but nothing very active. Could be worth starting your own? I was a mature student, but twas a while ago now. Feel free to ask me anything I might be able to answer. I'll start you off, yes it was hard, but it was worth it. Grin

Thanks @SpongeBobJudgeyPants, what did you study if you don't mind me asking?

I'm a current mature student and I can't help with applying (I didn't go through UCAS for my undergrad in 2016, it was a direct entry programme so applied to the uni) but I'd love a thread to have a moan about how stressed I am Grin

I did Psychology/history BA, joint hons.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 25/05/2021 21:42

I took the plunge and applied via UCAS to my local university and received an unconditional offer. I'll be studying for a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood starting in September Grin

I'd love to see a mature students section - mature student of Speech and Language Therapy here. Smile

Northernsoullover · 26/05/2021 13:58

Aww this brings back memories. I'm just about to graduate. Congratulations on your place. Its the best decision I have ever made.

MayIDestroyYou · 26/05/2021 14:04

Congratulations RhinestoneCowgirl!

(Though you're a bit young for most of the threads I try to be encouraging on. Grin)

There used to be a Student Parent Topic Area but to my disappointment nobody ever posted and now it doesn't exist anymore.

I'm a mature student. I'm in my second year of Adult Nursing.

suziedoozy · 26/05/2021 14:40

I’m a mature student - I’m doing my PhD in my 40s. Been at the studying thing (masters first) for almost 4 years.

Apply & study you will love it 😄
