Re selling sweets not making them.

Rather depends if you are doing it all online or having an actual shop.

We had an independent little sweet shop in our town. The shopkeeper got really fat over the couple of years he had the shop! He now has a dog waking business and is much slimmer!
Can’t really help with setting up a sweet business though. A lot of people seem to sell sweets in boxes on Facebook. It all looks a bit unhygienic to me though, with the unwrapped chocolate bars and random assortments.

You need to analyse if there is a market first. What prevents people buying them at the supermarket? If you open a store, how many tonnes do you have to shift a year to cover the overheads.
Sometimes people reminisce about their childhood and base a business on feelings, rather than profit. What is your motivation?

There are so many online companies doing this at the moment. I think you might have missed the boat

There was a feature in our local paper not so long ago, about a woman who'd started selling online as a teenager and now has three successful shops.

www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/people/leeds-woman-who-created-sweet-shop-empire-archers-sweets-from-hallway-with-ps200-as-teen-now-sells-thousands-of-kg-a-week-3139315

I don't understand it myself. Postage makes anything like this ridiculously expensive for something that you can just get in pretty much every convenience store and supermarket in the country.

My Instagram feed is inundated with new businesses selling assorted sweets in pizza boxes, offering free local delivery.

So I'm assuming it really is as easy as - buy a load of pizza boxes, buy a load of sweets from Costco, put a mix of sweets in the boxes, take some photos, start up a social media account. Job done.

I doubt any of them are going to be rich any time soon.
