Any Manchester estate agents around?

Just wondered whether anyone could give us some advice.

My son and DIL are going to be buying their first home in Manchester city centre. They want a city centre lifestyle for a few years before they start a family. He went to university there so knows the area.

There's such a lot of building going on in Manchester. I'm worried that too many new apartment blocks are being built and this will affect resale value later on.

They're going to spend about £250,000 - do you think this is a good use of their money in terms of getting any kind of return on it?

Thanks.

At the moment a lot of the flats in Manchester have cladding issues so require cash buyers. While the government may/are offering funding to remove the cladding, this does not include reworks and funds for whatever the replacement for the cladding is.

I've just noticed they want cash buyers, @NatMoz. I assume that new build apartments won't have it?

I'm not an expert so can't comment. It's just something to be wary of at the moment!!!!
