Anyone use a standing desk at home?

I need to do something about the fact that my job forces me to sit for long periods of time and I work from home pretty exclusively.

I don't have space in the house to have a standing desk and a sitting desk so I've just been browsing for something that converts a sitting desk to a standing one, essentially by giving your laptop something to sit on.

Really really shocked at the price! One of them is £499!! That's more than my fairly swanky dishwasher Confused.

Is there a good reasonably priced "converter" I think they're call out there?

Your employer(assuming you have one) should assist you with this, just as they would if you worked in the office. They should have sent you a Display Screen Equipment assessment form so you can report any discomfort, involving an Occupational health specialist if needed.

If you are freelance then maybe ebay may have some convertible desks as I think people may have bought them and not got on with them.

I currently just use my dining chair on my dining table. Soon to convert an old Tripp Trapp high chair so I can use footrest for my keyboard and screen up on the seat.

I have a desk riser that goes on top of my usual desk at home; at work I have an electric sit - stand desk ordered especially for me, but it was made clear to us that they wouldn't provide any help in that respect to wfh.

The desk riser is great. Not sure what brand it is as I was kindly given it by someone who had it but didn't use it but it is similar to this yo-yodesk.co.uk/products/yo-yo-desk-90?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9_mDBhCGARIsAN3PaFOMIBhEy1n7Z1HPIEuwplzTm6IF0bQ0L74X7gXuI6QKIyWJ_VqU77caAtDhEALw_wcB

I bought a laptop tray that I can put on top of the desk, and then stand at. It was about £25. How well this works will depend on your height and the height of the table.
