Keeping a dark wooden floor clean: any tips?

I have a dark wooden floor in both my kitchen and my living room, and seem to be always sweeping or mopping it. There are only 3 of us ( me, DH and DS 16) in a small London flat, and no pets, so it should not be this hard. Still, there seem to be always biscuit crumbs or dust everywhere. I was thinking of a Roomba but am not sure if it is worth while in a small flat.

Oh also, none of us wear shoes inside.

Sunglasses.
Blinkers.
Low lighting- never let the sun shine in.
Decide how often you are willing to clean it.
Acceptance.

I have just made DH clean it, which is one way out, I suppose. Striving for acceptance and blinkers:) The sun yesterday just showed up all the bits in the corners.

Change it for something mid toned instead. Very dark and very light flooring both show dirt and dust badly. Solid colour carpets are the same.

I feel your pain. Black floor tiles throughout the whole open living/dining/kitchen/hallway. Two primary aged DC.
