Easyjet - are flights still flying just now?

We had flights for summer 2020 and Christmas cancelled (France to UK, to see family). Our summer ones we re-booked using a voucher, for summer 2021.

It's still too early to know if there is any likelihood that we will make it this summer. But I wondered what the current situation is regarding flights etc as there is very little in the media atm. Are airlines like Easyjet still cancelling flights left, right and centre? Or are have they stopped cancelling (and refunding) and are just flying as planned, irrespective of whatever the border entry / restrictions / quarantine rules are at each end?

I'm also wondering if the fact that our summer flights were booked using a voucher means we will have problems getting a refund if they do cancel. Anyone currently dealing with re-booked flights atm?

Can't speak specifically for Easyjet but generically most airlines certainly aren't just pressing and flying airframes regardless of restrictions.

Some are publishing a provisional schedule a month or two ahead (e.g. on one airline I know of you can book from a very limited list of flights in April right now) but closer in to the planned operating date they'll look to see if there are any significant any changes to local restrictions (e.g. lockdown, quarantine) and decide whether a given flight should actually operate or not.

It's certainly still not that unusual to hear of Long Haul flights being cancelled with a day or two's notice if there's a sudden change in the requirements at the foreign end or even the UK end (as happened when the "Red List" came in a few weeks back).

Vouchers/refunds with Easyjet - don't know.

Well I don't know about just now but I had flights with them booked to Crete in April (carried over from last summer) and have been hoping they would be cancelled. I checked this week and they were (hadn't received an email Hmm) so I rang and my refund has just been processed. No problems with getting it at all - there was a pre-recorded message saying only to ring if my flight was due to leave in 48 hours but I ignored that and nothing was said about it. The refund option wasn't available on the 'manage my booking' thing online, which worried me but didn't cause an issue.

I think your problem may be not that you booked with a voucher, but that by the summer they will be hoping to be operating flights so it may not get cancelled. I don't think you'll get a refund in that case and I doubt they'll cancel flights beyond June now.

We'd be flying into Scotland - where currently ALL arrivals from anywhere are required to quarantine at the cost of £2,000+ pp - that would be getting on for £10K for our family!! Surely no one's going to fly into Scotland if that's still in place? But maybe it will all have changed by then. I actually want to go - all our vulnerable oldies will have been vaccinated, and we're not fussed about what's open etc - we just want to see family.
