Good walking shoes (for schlepping not hiking)

So with the weather getting better my warm boots will be going away and I’m thinking of some new shoes for walking.

I walk a lot and have back problems so need something fairly rugged but nothing bug-ugly!

When I was in the office I’d wear proper ‘shoes’ (Brogues or heels) but they aren’t comfortable for walking for hours.

Any suggestions?

I have Adidas terra X trail running shoes and they're really comfy. Very lightweight and bouncy.

They’d need to be made ups and slip ons hurt my back.
