I used to eat a small tin everyday.

I work in a hospital and a doctor told me I shouldn’t eat it more than twice a week because of mercury poisoning Hmm

Is it a realistic risk of would you need to be eating an absolute ton of tuna to need to be worried about it? Google seems to think it’s only albacore tuna which is an issue

I think it’s only the fresh tuna steaks which come from bigger fish that you need to worry about OP.
The tinned stuff uses really small fish and they don’t carry the same amount of mercury.

Are you pregnant? I’ve only heard the twice a week rule for pregnant people, because of mercury.

But otherwise, I think it’s more precaution as tuna CAN contain higher amount of mercury. Doesn’t mean it does. But because it can it’s better taste than sorry.. when pregnant 😂
