Mid cycle problems

( originally put in Menopause but had zero replies)

I’m 48, still regular periods but the last 6-12 months have been experiencing awful mid cycle symptoms - horrendous bloating along with terrible constipation and very lumpy painful boobs. Making me so miserable! I take senna, kefir and ant bloating OTC stuff with limited results. Any advice please🙏

Me too. Am 43 and had an ovary removed due to an endometriotic cyst three months ago. Have now worked out that the debilitating symptoms I have had all my adult life around ovulation are due to endometriosis.

It's grim. My gp suggested going on depo provera for a bit to stop ovulation to give me a break for a while. Unfortunately it's not given to over 45's.

I am also taking buscopan to help stop my bladder and bowel cramping as recommended by my gp. It does help.

PS you may want to rule out ovarian cysts....ask your GP to refer you for a scan.

Thank you Cailleach- yes had scan which showed nothing except a fibroid.
Will try Buscopan though ( only tried Colpermin so far). 👍

Hi Brizzle, I have very similar symptoms. Did you find out what was causing the problem or find anything that helped?
