Returning to work on Monday after long term sickness. Just found out 4/5 of my team have left due to our new toxic manager. I don’t know what to do I feel sick with anxiety 😥

So sorry to hear this OP, have you much experience of this woman, perhaps we can help you with some short-term coping strategies and then you can look at possible long-term ways of dealing with things?
How are you doing, do you think you'll be able to get a few hours sleep?

How many are in your team? It always feels daunting going back after a long time off (I’ve done it twice) but you’ll be fine once you’re there.

Which members of the team are left, is it someone you get on OK with?

I haven’t worked with her at all. I can’t sleep. I’m scared about going back into work where we were a team of 5 to just one person left who is also looking for a new job 😢

Yeah I get on ok with the person left but she is looking for a new job too. I feel so pathetic I should be grateful I have a job to go back too

Will there be new people there? Is there anyone above this manager? If it’s really awful you can look for another job too. Try not to let it build up

No one will want me I’ve been off sick 11 months. I know I shouldn’t jump to conclusions that she’s toxic she could be on and my former colleagues over reacting but I dunno I can’t stop panicking.
