Anyone had n operation recently?

If you've had an operation recently, how long before did you have your pre-op assessment? DD doesn't have a date yet, but has had a phone call in last week saying they have a backlog, but checking how flexible she is over hospitals. Now she has a pre-op assessment appointment, so sounds like something is moving after a year.

I think it's meant to be six weeks max before the surgery.

But I know of someone who's now had three pre-op assessments for the same operation that still hasn't taken place a year later!

Thanks for your reply. Hoping it won't be too long now as she keeps getting flare ups and needing operation (they can't do the main op when this happens).

Someone I know is having a pre-op this weekend for a planned surgery end of March. My Aunt got called with a cancellation in two days for her surgery and had the pre-op immediately.
