Finding out if someone has died in Australia

DH and I have been trying to contact a friend in the Melbourne area.
He has been unwell for a couple of years and hasn’t been seen on WhatsApp since November and, on the many occasions we have phoned, hasn’t answered.
I know that if he is, we are too late to visit him, but wondered if anyone knew if there’s a website listing deaths anywhere

Have you tried googling his name, city and the word obituary? Because I do that all the time trying to find if estranged family have died yet.
