I’m 9 weeks pregnant and went for an emergency scan today as I have been bleeding. The sonographer was quiet for a very long time which worried me and eventually asked me if my dates were correct which I told her they were. She then told me that the pregnancy was there but that the sizing was that of a 5-6 week pregnancy and there was an irregular heart beat. That was about as much help and information as I received despite asking questions and I was sent away with another scan booked for 2 weeks time.I know my dates are correct as we were trying for a baby for a few months previously and I have been filling in my app religiously so I know when my last period was and I even have a photograph of my positive pregnancy test which was taken on 15th January. Has this happened to anyone else? Are there any other reasons why the foetus could be showing up as small and with an irregular heartbeat? I’m pretty worried and just want to have a better understanding of what could be happening.
