Supply teacher maternity leave

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has any information on a supply teacher going on maternity leave. I usually work day to day supply but due to COVID I have not worked since November.

I have been offered a long term position to start at Easter. I would leave placement May 28th but I would be 38 weeks pregnant. Is this doable? Would I be eligible for SMP?

Your employer would have to complete a risk assessment.

Would a supply agency be likely to complete a risk assessment or would they look for someone else to take over the role?

They can't employ you without a risk assessment. The risk assessment might indicate it's not safe for you to work.
You have to have been working from wk11 of your pregnancy in that agency contract to qualify for SMP
