...what else might I like to watch?

Looking for family friendly, gentle drama which is funny, quirky and thought-provoking.

Any suggestions?

Oh my God I LOVED Larkrise to Candleford. It is so beautifully gentle. I've never found anything to match it so am following!

I capture the Castle Dodie Smith

Sorry, just seen you are looking for things to watch, not read. try them anyway!

Oooo, lots of suggestions!
DD1, who had started watching When Calls The Heart last years, reminded me of Larkrise To Candleford! DP and I watched it when it was on the BBC years ago, and I got us a box set for Christmas, which we have eked out and rationed as the DC don't want it to end!
Cranford! DM and I were trying to remember this one just earlier, but in the end couldn't remember whether there was actually a separate series or whether Judi Dench just made an appearance in Candleford!
I will look up these suggestions, thank you very much!

Call the midwife? Although probably depends on your DC ages!

Cranford is a really lovely read - if you want a change from the TV.

I enjoyed it even as a 14 year old who had to read it for school Eng Lit, and have re read it many times since.
