This is my 3rd night in a row with no sleep. All I want to do is get 8 full hours. I think a lot of small disasters have been being bottled up over the last month and the cork flew out and hit me in the face all at once.

Being 51 in a week doesn’t help. I hate my birthday and getting older does present some challenges.

Find a podcast or audiobook to listen to to calm your brain down a bit, it might help you relax enough to nod off.

Im 51soon too, do we need 8 hours? Im pleased with 7. Ill be lyck with 5 toniggt.

i was listening to a fall asleep hypnosis thing on youtube, they usually send me to sleep but i had it a bit to loud. Trying again now.

GothamGirl1970 · 24/02/2021 02:45

Because I’m so sleep deprived I am not 100% with it

You are right at the age where sleep became hard for me. Make sure your bedroom is cool. I find listening to an audiobook, sometimes many times over, helps a bit. I have also found a magnesium supplement you put on your skin helpful as I get restless legs. Good luck, it is hard.

GothamGirl1970 · 24/02/2021 02:50

Ooh I like. Magnesium idea. I also wee about 8 times a night

I am awake, worrying about family. Your age, 51, is it related to menopause. I fo find I nod off trying to do Wordsearches, or puzzles. I have been told by a doctor that we will need less sleep as we age. 6 hours he said. I am hoping for more than that

LoveFall · 24/02/2021 03:05

I got my first magnesium in a spray bottle from Amazon. For me, it really does help and I am very skeptical about such things. Restless legs are horrible.

LoveFall · 24/02/2021 03:08

It is not a cure for perimenopausal or menopausal sleep issues but it does calm my legs enough that they are no longer the big no-sleep issue.
